Where in the World is Anna??
Hi Friends!
Oh SOOO much has happened! I don't even know where to begin!
My job is as crazy and unpridictable as ever! Those of you who have responded with teaching tips and ideas, THANK YOU!! Keep them coming! I really appreciate all the ideas I can get!
Last weekend, I decided to make a bold move and go to church by myself. I walked to a presbyterian church that I pass on my way to work every day. Oh, the Korean women were so excited to have me! I was hoping to just slide into a seat in the back and slip out at the end. Not a chance. They sat me next to a Korean man who spoke English very well... it turns out he's a YWAM missionary who did his DTS in Australia, (!!) He apologized repeatedly for his "poor English ability," but my goodness! He translated the entire sermon! That takes some skill! It was so nice to be in a church community again. And some of the songs were the same as English worship songs, so I could sing along quietly, under my breath.

My boss had me and other teachers over to his house for dinner. It was delightful! His wife is a very classy and hospitable lady, and she prepared a wonderful traditional Korean meal. Their daughter is in a couple of my classes, and their son is studying for the year in New Zealand. I know they all miss him very much. Next month, my bosses' wife wants me to help her learn English. The following day, they took me grocery shopping, so I can know how to find the items I need in Korean. I spend so much time among foreigners, it was so nice to see the family structure here in Korea.

Tonight was fabulous!! I went to a Greek-style dinner party with other foreigners who work for the Department of Defense. How delightful to enjoy the company of mature adults, sipping wine and having meaningful conversation! Such a delightful evening. And it is great to meet other foreigners who don't just hang out at the bar all the time.
I'm noticing many things about myself, and others that I don't think I'd notice elsewhere. I still feel new to Korea, but I'm beginning to learn about the things that are great, and the things to avoid. If I'm gaining so much in my first three weeks, what is in store for me for an entire year?? I'm so excited to find out!
PLEASE PRAY:
** for continued insight as I interact with people here, children and adults alike, to provide the support they need
Know that I am praying for you while I'm here! Let me know whats new with you.
I love and appreciate you all!
