SO much to tell you all!
we last blogged in floripa, and since then have been to iguazu, buenos aires and cordoba. Iguazu falls were amazing. One of the most incredible things we have ever seen, we arrived on the Brazilian side and looked around there which was a good taster for what was to come. We then crossed the border into Argentina, we were travelling and seeing the falls with a group of people we had met in Tucano House hostel in Florianopolis who were a combination of English, Australian and one Norwegian and one Canadian... who were all a lot of fun and the English couple basically looked after us while we were there.
Back to the falls - the Argentinian side was phenomenal. Never experienced anything like it, they were so powerful and John/Daddy, you would have LOVED it, as would you all to be honest. The wildlife, butterflies, plants were all so beautiful and just the force of the water was so spectacular we were completely blown away. A note for the Disney fans out there... Aunby residents in particular, they were the paradise falls from UP!!!! So exciting!!
We we fortunate enough to go on a boat trip actually into the falls, and we got completely soaked. We first went into a tiny one and without wanting to sound spoilt or ungrateful we were a little disappointed! Until the boat turned around and took us into the biggest one in sight, not Devil's throat thank god. But it was quite big enough for us! We were looking at each other as we went in and we were so hysterical, laughing at each others ridiculous faces as the water poured over us and we got completely drenched! The cleanest shower we have had all trip. If only we had our Herbal Essences.
From Iguazu, where we had had excellent food, and our first taste of Argentinian meat, Buenos Aires had a lot to live up to! We headed off in style on possibly the most luxurious bus we will ever encounter. When we got on we thought it must have been a mistake because there were leather seats with pillows and blankets and a TV between 2 and it was just so cool.
We were given meal after meal and cupcake after cupcake and drinks and sweets galore, and then if that wasn't enough they produced champagne, while we sat back and relaxed to the hangover and One Day in English. So we arrived fresh and bright in BA, where we then went straight to the hostel and settled in, before meeting Poppy, who is Tora's friend from the grange.
On our first night we went to a tango lesson and show with Nesh Higgins and Rosie O'Connor (who we are now with in Cordoba). It was hilarious. We all got quite into the tango, Poppy and Rosie were paired with other tourists learning to dance, Tora and Nesh grabbed each other and were very lucky in the fact that they didn't have to have the full 'Argentinian Experience' unlike Lucy, who typically got paired with the creepy old man who took it far too seriously, all a lot of fun though and a great way to start our time in BA!!
We managed to fit in a football Boca Juniors game while we were there, which was quite an experience, especially since it we were all a little hungover from the night before! We arrived late afternoon and the the stands got more and more packed until the game began. We were squashed amoungst all the Boca fans, who, thankfully, won 2-0 and went mental at each goal. We are lucky not to have been crushed in the excitement! The football was really exciting and we are so glad we went, definitely a good thing to do whilst in BA.
Tora's caxton card arrived!!! Yay!!! So we are now safely with funds to last us until Lucy's arrive.
We also went to the Cemetario de Recoleta where Evita is buried, which was quite strange as the tombs are like little houses and so we felt as though we were walking in a village of dead people. Evita's tomb was really small compared to what we were expecting. But it did still have flowers around it.
We managed to see lots of things whilst in BA which we thought was quite an achievement since we were also going out a lot. We saw where Evita made her speeches and went in lots of churches, saw pretty buildings everywhere, shopped in lovely markets and generally got a feel for the city which has been our best place so far.
The food there was defintiely a highlight, Tora was happy that her stomach felt contented each night! We had some excellent steaks of course, which were relatively cheap and absolutely delicious.
On the 2nd April, it was Lucy's birthday! Tora and Poppy managed to come up with plenty of amazing suprises to fill the day (and from Lucy - it was probably my best birthday ever!! So they did a good job!) We went for a picnic lunch with champagne and so much yummy food in the Botantic Gardens, which was so pretty and cute and it was such a great start to the day. Then we tried to go to the Evita museum but typically it was shut, and so we made our way to La Boca which is where the famous colourful street is. There is plenty of street dancers, cafes and restaurants and its generally a buzzing place to be.
Afterwards we were feeling a little tired and so Lucy went to read her book for a while and Tora and Poppy arranged a birthday cake and more champagne! Tora ran into the dorm hysterically giggling and told Lucy that she 'had to come now quickly to read the email from mummy because the caxton cards are worse than ever... and I am only laughing because I am trying my best to keep my sense of humour - QUICK!' So Lucy panicked, jumped out of bed and walked into the courtyard where a birthday cake and candles were waiting with Poppy, such a good suprise.
We then went to a drumming show and then on to dinner which was possibly the best suprise. Lucy was beside herself as the taxi drew up to a sushi restaurant overlooking the river. We had fantastic sushi and a lovely time, before heading back to the hostel for the pre party, and then out to such a fun club that even played the spice girls! We were in heaven.
After saying our emotional goodbyes to Poppy in BA, we took a bus to Cordoba and met with Nesh and Rosie. Yesterday we all went skydiving which was great.
The wait was long and tense because they kept having false starts as there was too much wind, but in the end Lucy made it up and down in one piece and had the most incredible experience. Its hard to describe but it really feels as though you are about to die and the mixed feeling of terror and excitement is just insane. We will upload the video if we can so you can all see! And some photos. Because the photos are on a disc we can upload them unlike the ones from our cameras, we are trying though!
Hope this updates you all and sorry to have been out of touch for such a while, BA got the better of us!
We are heading to Mendoza tonight, and should arrive in time for breakfast tomorrow morning. Happy Easter to you all and lots and lots of love, Tora and Lucy xxxxx

Daphnie I was extremely shoeckd and surprised by the movie. I did not expecting something so good to be produced by a Kuwaiti film-team. Everyone I attended the movie with was really impressed as well. The acting was SUPERB. It was really believable, and even if I might be a little biased because I really like Saad Al Faraj and Khaled Ameen, I thought they delivered their roles flawlessly. Asmahan Tawfeeq was also perfect in her part.It had a variety of flavors. There were the necessary moments of true joy, sorrow, laughter, depression, etc. and it could easily move you. I personally was quickly clung onto the events of the movie and was really moved throughout. Some scenes were just heartbreaking like the one when Tareq thought his parents were the ones tied and gunned down and he had ran out hysterically. Also, the death of Um Tareq was pretty shocking and how they had to just bury her behind. Of course the very end was really emotional as well. When the movie ended, I expected people to give it a round of applause, it didn't, but it surely deserved to.I'm not going to get into technical stuff because I'm not a tough critic on that. The visuals, audio, scenery, and dialogue were all great. I wasn't really happy with the lack of subtitles for foreign languages, but it was ok. Everything was still understandable.I'm hoping for more productions of this sort to come out from Kuwait and get that appreciation it deserves. There are so many people here that possess the potential to do amazing. Keep it up and good luck to Kuwaiti cinema =)
